Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is hiring a Temporary Back Office Clinic Assistant to join our East Portland Health Center team. Bilingual Spanish required.

About This Opportunity
This is a temporary position expected to continue through January 2027.
While this position is being hired as temporary, staffing needs can evolve. Temporary employees are encouraged to apply for regular PPCW positions as opportunities become available, and many have successfully transitioned into ongoing roles.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll be part of the clinical team supporting patients through their visit and helping create a safe, respectful, and efficient experience.
On a typical day, you might:
  • Room patients, take vital signs, and prepare them for their visit
  • Support providers during exams and procedures
  • Assist with lab work, including specimen collection and processing
  • Clean, stock, and prepare exam rooms and instruments
  • Answer patient questions and help them feel informed and at ease
  • Work closely with your team to keep the clinic running smoothly

You'll play an essential role in delivering high-quality sexual and reproductive health care while helping ensure every patient is treated with dignity and respect.
Schedule & Location
This is a temporary part-time position (34 hours/week) at our East Portland Health Center.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service or high-volume environment

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment

Nice to Have
  • Experience in a medical setting or working directly with patients
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or CNA certification

Pay & Growth
$20.37-$29.68/hour
Pay is based on experience and internal equity.
Additional Pay Opportunities
  • Bilingual premium: +$1.72/hour
  • Interpreter-level premium: +$3.44/hour
  • After 6 months, you may be eligible for additional clinic responsibilities that include extra hourly pay
