Job description

About the Role

Zenity is hiring a BDR Manager to shape, define, and scale our business development function from start-up mode to full operationalized efficiency. You'll influence and own the inbound and outbound motion end to end: strategy, tooling, hiring, coaching, and compensation design, reporting directly to the CRO. This is a builder's role: you'll manage the existing team of 6 and look to grow the BDR function to unlock growth while establishing a program that consistently delivers qualified pipeline into enterprise target accounts. You'll work from our NYC office alongside the team you lead.

This is a hybrid role in office 3 days per week in our New York office

About Zenity

Zenity is the leader in AI Agent Security and the first company to bring an agent-centric security platform to market. As enterprises accelerate AI agent adoption, we are establishing the security framework for how AI agents are secured and governed at enterprise scale. We deliver full-lifecycle visibility, governance, detection, prevention, and response for AI agents from build time to runtime, across SaaS, home-grown platforms, and end-user devices. Backed by $55M+ in funding, including a $38M Series B with strategic investment from Microsoft’s M12, Zenity is trusted by Fortune 500 enterprises globally.

Join us in shaping how AI agents are secured at enterprise scale.

What You’ll Do
  • Define and run a modern, AI-enabled outbound motion. Sequencing, channels, messaging, and cadence built for how enterprise buyers actually respond today.
  • In coordination with Marketing, design ABM BDR strategies targeting Zenity's named enterprise accounts, and translate them into repeatable playbooks for multi-threaded penetration of buying committees.
  • Evaluate and deploy AI tools into the team's workflow: research, personalization, prioritization, and sequencing to expand capacity without sacrificing quality or authenticity.
  • Define clear KPIs and metrics (activity, meetings held, SQLs, pipeline generated, conversion) and run a data-driven operating rhythm with regular reporting and reviews that show the function’s effectiveness and where to adjust.
  • Build compensation plans and incentive structures explicitly aligned to the outcomes the business needs, not just activity volume.
  • Own a defined hiring process that reliably identifies the right BDR profile and use it to hire disciplined, coachable, high-output reps.
  • Build a team that attracts seasoned, professional BDRs with a real enablement and professional development program with clear skill-building, career pathing, and recognition that makes being a BDR at Zenity a career choice, not just a stepping stone to AE.
  • Stay close to the details: coaching, pipeline math, forecasting, and day-to-day management, in-office in NYC alongside your team.
Requirements
  • You started as a BDR yourself and were promoted up into BDR leadership, you've carried the quota and know the job from the inside.
  • 3–5+ years minimum as a BDR/SDR leader, managing and developing people, not just carrying an individual number.
  • Direct experience building and scaling a BDR/outbound function within an enterprise B2B SaaS startup, ideally from an early stage.
  • Strong command of modern, AI-enabled outreach and have hands‑on experience operationalizing AI tools inside a BDR workflow.
  • Experience working within an ABM system and have run strategies to penetrate large, multi-stakeholder target accounts.
  • A track record designing compensation plans tied to business outcomes and building KPI/metrics frameworks that hold up under scrutiny from sales and finance leadership.
  • A data-driven operating style: comfortable using pipeline and conversion data to make decisions, not just report on them.
What We Look For At Zenity
  • Proven ability to build, not just maintain, systems, processes, or relationships
  • Comfort operating in evolving, fast-moving environments where the playbook is still being written
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes, not just activity
  • Experience in high-growth or venture-backed environments
  • Exposure to AI, security, or emerging technology ecosystems
Interview Process
  • Recruiter Screen (30-45 minutes)
  • Hiring Manager Interview (45–60 minutes)
  • People Team Interview (45 minutes)
  • RD Interview (45 minutes)

Zenity is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We enable enterprises to adopt AI agents securely and at scale, and that starts with building a team that reflects a wide range of perspectives and experiences. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

We’re committed to creating an inclusive environment where talented people can do their best work, securely, confidently, and with impact.

Compensation

Target OTE of $160,000–$200,000, with a competitive base salary and commission structure based on experience and performance.
