Job description

B2B Integration Architect
Who We Are
US Cold owns and operates one of the most complex temperature-controlled logistics networks in North America. Every day, our systems coordinate the storage and movement of food at national scale across a network of state-of-the-art distribution centers, including multiple highly automated warehouse facilities.
We continue to advance our core warehouse and logistics platforms while modernizing the technology ecosystem that supports our customers, operations, and business partners. Our current focus includes API-first architecture, event-driven integrations, cloud platforms, automation, reliability engineering, and digital customer enablement. As part of this transformation, we are building scalable integration capabilities that improve customer onboarding, accelerate innovation, and provide seamless connectivity across internal and external systems.
The Role
The B2B Integration Architect is responsible for designing, building, and supporting enterprise integrations that connect customers, vendors, partners, and internal business systems. This role serves as a technical leader for integration architecture, helping establish standards, governance, reusable patterns, and best practices across the organization.
The position focuses on EDI, APIs, file-based integrations, and event-driven solutions that support critical business processes across warehouse management, transportation, ERP, customer platforms, and data services. The Integration Architect collaborates closely with business stakeholders, application teams, infrastructure, and customers to deliver secure, reliable, scalable integrations that support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate combines deep integration expertise, strong architecture skills, customer-facing communication abilities, and a passion for modernization and continuous improvement.
What You Will Own
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain EDI, API, event-driven, and file-based integration solutions.
  • Architect integration platforms and connectivity solutions between internal applications, customer systems, vendors, and third-party partners.
  • Develop reusable integration frameworks, design standards, templates, and onboarding accelerators.
  • Define integration architecture patterns that support scalability, reliability, maintainability, and security.
  • Collaborate with business, applications, infrastructure, and customer-facing teams to deliver end-to-end integration solutions.
  • Build and support integrations across WMS, TMS, ERP, databases, customer portals, and cloud platforms.
  • Monitor integration performance, troubleshoot failures, and resolve production issues while maintaining ownership through resolution.
  • Support self-service capabilities, automation initiatives, error handling, auditability, and operational visibility.
  • Create and maintain integration specifications, architecture documentation, operational runbooks, data mappings, and support procedures.
  • Participate in customer onboarding, testing, validation, and production deployment activities.
  • Ensure integrations comply with enterprise security standards, data governance requirements, and architectural best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to development and integration teams.
  • Evaluate new technologies, platforms, and tools that improve integration efficiency and reliability.
  • Partner with vendors, customers, and third-party technology providers to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
  • Participate in on-call support, deployment activities, and critical issue resolution when required.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems integration, EDI development, middleware, or enterprise integration architecture.
  • Experience designing and supporting API, EDI, event-driven, and file-based integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards including X12 and EDIFACT transaction processing.
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating with third-party services.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex integration failures, connectivity issues, and data mapping problems.
  • Understanding of system design, integration architecture principles, and integration best practices.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator or similar enterprise B2B integration platforms.
  • Experience with API management platforms such as Azure API Management (APIM), Apigee, MuleSoft, or equivalent solutions.

  • Knowledge of secure integration technologies including OAuth, certificates, tokens, API security, and secure file transfer protocols.
  • Experience with AS2, SFTP, messaging platforms, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based integration solutions.
  • Experience within logistics, supply chain, warehousing, distribution, or third-party logistics (3PL) environments.
  • Experience creating architectural standards, governance processes, and reusable integration frameworks.
  • Technical writing and documentation experience.

Why This Role Is Different
  • Design and influence the integration architecture that powers one of North America's largest temperature-controlled logistics networks.
  • Play a critical role in a multi-year technology modernization initiative focused on cloud, automation, and digital transformation.
  • Work across a diverse technology landscape that includes warehouse operations, customer systems, enterprise applications, and cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate directly with customers, vendors, application teams, infrastructure engineers, and business leaders.
  • Create standards and architectural patterns that will shape the future of integration delivery across the enterprise.
