The AWS Sales Engineer will play a critical role in driving the growth of our AWS cloud services across our GPS sectors by providing technical expertise, developing solutions, and supporting sales efforts. Technical Expertise and Solution Development:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on AWS cloud services, providing technical guidance and support to clients and internal teams.
  • Develop and present AWS-based solutions that address client needs and align with their business objectives.
  • Design and architect scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS solutions for government and public sector clients.
  • Conduct technical assessments and provide recommendations for AWS adoption, migration, and optimization.

Sales Support and Client Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and qualify opportunities for AWS cloud services within the GPS sector.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and demonstrations to articulate the value of AWS solutions.
  • Develop and deliver technical proposals, statements of work, and other sales collateral.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their technical requirements and business goals.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with Deloitte's internal teams, including consulting, delivery, and project management, to ensure successful implementation of AWS solutions.

The GPS AI & Data Engineering offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.

Qualifications 

Required: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or business-related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance (minimum Secret).
  • 10+ years of professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing AWS solutions in a government or public sector environment.
  • 5+ years of experience engineering AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and others.
  • 5+ years of experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • 5+ years of experience navigating security and compliance requirements for government and public sector clients, including FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST.
  • 1+ year of experience with modern Generative AI technologies and large language models (ex. Claude, Llama, Command, Nova, etc.) and AWS-based AI/ML platforms (ex. Bedrock, Sagemaker, etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Engineering or business-related field.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
