Job Overview

Automotive Development Group is seeking a highly skilled and proactive National Construction Manager to oversee our nationwide construction projects. This pivotal role will manage a high-volume project pipeline (projected 2026 sales of $50 million), lead a team of Project Managers, and ensure the successful execution of automotive service facility projects from conception to completion. This position is responsible for the Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA) of the Construction Groupensuring every project is delivered On Time, On Budget, and To Our Standards.

Key Responsibilities

The National Construction Manager will lead the daily operations of the Construction Group, including:

  • Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the Construction Department and Project Management team.

    • Set clear performance targets, objectives, and responsibilities for supervised staff.

    • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to team members.

    • Align construction operations with corporate Vision, Mission, and Values.

    • Collaborate with senior leadership on operational improvements and growth initiatives.

  • Financial & Operational Oversight
    • Monitor departmental profitability and project margins.

    • Manage a projected construction revenue pipeline of $50M+.

    • Forecast project timelines, resource allocation, and national capacity planning.

    • Ensure project costs are controlled through proactive management and value optimization.

    • Provide accurate project reporting and recommend process improvements.

  • Project & Construction Management
    • Oversee all construction activities from pre-construction through closeout.

    • Develop and manage master project schedules and distribution timelines.

    • Ensure adherence to legal regulations, building codes, and safety standards.

    • Maintain and update scopes of work and pre-construction documentation.

    • Monitor risk management strategies to keep projects on track and on budget.

    • Ensure delivery of high-quality workmanship and materials.

  • Subcontractor & Network Development
    • Grow and strengthen a nationwide subcontractor network to meet project demands.

    • Build strategic relationships with dealer groups, architects, engineers, and trade partners.

    • Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and vendor performance meets company standards.

  • Client & Culture Focus
    • Report to clients and senior leadership on project progress.

    • Drive internal and external customer satisfactioncreating Raving Fans.

    • Reinforce company core values and a customer-focused culture within the construction team.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction management or leadership roles.

  • Proven experience managing construction of Automotive Service Facilities.

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple Project Managers and/or nationwide projects.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets and cost controls.

  • Experience overseeing large-scale commercial project portfolios.

  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Experience managing a national subcontractor network.

  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to travel nationally as project demands require.
