Overview
The Parts Driver- Shipping/Receiving Clerk helps ensure complete customer satisfaction by having parts shipped out timely for timely delivery to our customers along with receiving parts and having them delivered to our service technicians for timely delivery of vehicles to customers and customer satisfaction when they purchase their auto parts. This person will ensure the best method of shipping is used and communicate with employee team members to ensure delivery of parts is efficient and timely in addition will drive a company car to deliver parts to dealership. Most importantly and without exception, the Parts Driver operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times.
THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION!
The ideal candidate has a high energy level, a desire to work in a fast paced environment, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. He or she must have great communication and customer service skills, strong organizational and problem solving skills, and a positive attitude. Previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the scheduling of the inbound and outbound flow of parts, work in process.
  • Effectively communicate with Service department to ensure the required parts are available for technicians.
  • Ensure that required parts are ready for shipment according to required deadlines.
  • Determine the proper method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and DOT regulations.
  • Contract with freight companies that can provide the best rates and service within our shipping requirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inbound parts, including the inspection of the material compared to the shipping paperwork (bills of lading, packing lists, parts transfer, etc.) This includes the documentation of material shortages/overages rejected or damaged materials.
  • Accurately enter all production part receipts to the P.O.'s on the ADP System.
  • Accurately receive all MOR and miscellaneous shipments and process related paperwork.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Support the resolution of purchase order, packing slip, invoicing, inventory and bills of materials discrepancies.
  • Supports initiatives to improve shipping, receiving, handling and storage of materials.
  • Support continuous improvement initiates throughout the supply chain logistics process.
  • Follows all safety and security procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years' experience in shipping & receiving (Auto Dealership experience preferred).
  • Minimal Parts Counterperson experience a PLUS!
  • Parts Delivery experience Preferred!
  • Valid California Drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Highly professional and dependable.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience in a similar role a plus.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customers and team members.
  • Must be self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly with high energy and the willingness to go above and beyond.
  • Willing to multi-task.
  • Bilingual a PLUS!
