Join us in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism. Damar is currently seeking Intensive Autism Technicians to join our highly skilled team for full-time opportunities at our main residential setting on the Southwest side of Indianapolis where we provide services. The Intensive Autism Technician is responsible for providing direct services to children diagnosed with Autism, using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. They are also responsible for participating in Behavior Skills Training and assiting during Practical Functional Assessments. The Intensive Autism Technician is responsible for performing a variety of duties, such as, natural environment training, skills-based treatment, data collection, and intensive autism intervention. The Intensive Autism Technician is responsible for providing direct support to individuals diagnosed with Autism who reside at Damar. Assists the treatment team, including the Intensive Autism Manager, Intensive Autism Supervisor, and Director of Autism Services and other members as designated, in the evaluation of clinical services.

  • Demonstrates confidence when making decisions in the moment regarding Skills Based Treatment
  • Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner
  • Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned
  • Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops as recommended by the Intensive Autism leadership team
  • Provides direct services to children
  • Participates in Behavior Skills Training (BST), as needed or appropriate
  • Assists during Practical Functional Assessments, as needed or appropriate
  • Operates Damar vehicles and/or personal vehicles to transport clients or perform other work-related duties
  • Completes incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client
  • Serves as a member of Damar Services' interdisciplinary team
  • Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth
  • Shows initiative by identifying solutions to work towards improving stakeholder satisfaction
  • Acts as a good steward of Damar and/or client finances

What you need to be considered:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience working with children with neurodivergence is preferred but not required
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification
  • Ability to pass and maintain CPR Certification
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening
