Augmented Reality Manager information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Augmented Reality Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Augmented Reality Manager, you need expertise in AR technologies, project management, and a strong background in software development or digital design, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with AR platforms (such as Unity or Unreal Engine), 3D modeling tools, and project management software is typically required, along with certifications in AR or immersive media. Excellent leadership, creative problem-solving, and communication skills help you coordinate multidisciplinary teams and translate complex ideas into engaging AR experiences. These skills are crucial for delivering innovative, high-quality AR projects that meet business goals and user expectations.

How does an Augmented Reality Manager typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during project development?

As an Augmented Reality Manager, you'll frequently work with cross-functional teams that include designers, software engineers, product managers, and marketing professionals. Effective collaboration is essential to translate creative concepts into technical specifications and ensure alignment on project goals. You may facilitate meetings, coordinate feedback loops, and oversee progress to ensure the AR solutions meet both user needs and business objectives. Strong communication and organizational skills are vital, as you'll often bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What are Augmented Reality Managers?

Augmented Reality Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of augmented reality (AR) projects within an organization. They coordinate teams of designers, developers, and engineers to create interactive AR experiences for marketing, training, education, or entertainment purposes. Their role also includes staying up-to-date with the latest AR technologies, ensuring project goals are met, and aligning AR initiatives with business objectives. Effective communication, project management skills, and technical expertise are essential for success in this role.

What is the difference between Augmented Reality Manager vs AR Developer?

Job description

The BIM Integrator serves as a key liaison between the BIM team and the wider project structure, working across Construction Management, Field Supervision, Quality Assurance, Safety, Scheduling, and Estimating functions. Based full-time on site in Boise, ID, this role is responsible for ensuring that model-based construction workflows are effectively integrated into day-to-day field operations, supporting accurate fabrication, installation verification, and cross-team technical training. The successful candidate will bring strong AEC industry experience, hands-on BIM tool proficiency, and the communication skills to elevate model-based practices across a complex project team.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Construction Managers and the Scheduling team to coordinate the timing of model component delivery, ensuring alignment with fabrication and delivery schedules per the construction sequencing plan.
  • Work alongside Field Supervision and QA teams to conduct training on model-to-field alignment and review installed conditions against model content, reporting any misaligned instances.
  • Deliver technical training to the project team on model-based construction practices, including the use of Navisworks Simulate software.
  • Partner with project Cost Estimators to support and train on model-based quantification workflows.
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for BIM integration, supporting day-to-day queries and ensuring consistent application of VDC methods across the project.
  • Support clash detection, quantity take-off, and 4D scheduling activities using Navisworks Manage modules as required.
  • Assist with the adoption and use of collaboration platforms such as BIM 360 and Procore across project teams.
  • Contribute to the use of augmented reality tools and photogrammetry workflows where applicable to support field verification and coordination.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
Skills Required:
  • 4-7 years' experience in the architectural, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in a BIM coordination or VDC role on active construction projects.
  • Proven ability to deliver technical training and support cross-functional teams in the adoption of model-based workflows.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Autodesk Navisworks Simulate and Navisworks Manage, including Clash Detective, QTO, and Timeliner modules.
  • Experience with BIM 360 and other file sharing and collaboration platforms, including Procore.
  • Strong knowledge of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methods and digital fabrication workflows.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse project teams.
  • Experience with construction scheduling, material procurement, logistics management, and/or field quality review and reporting.
  • Familiarity with augmented reality tools such as Microsoft HoloLens and/or photogrammetry workflows is advantageous.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended overtime or off-shift hours to accommodate changing construction sequences.
