Job description

The Account Manager focuses on expanding the customer base for our Audio-Visual Event Production and Staging services across hotels, event venues, and educational facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region. This position requires a proactive sales approach to acquire new venues and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, supporting a diverse range of live, virtual, and hybrid corporate events. This role requires a professional with a hunter-sales mentality, along with the ability to open new doors of business.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and contact clients to generate new business and prepare compelling sales proposals.
  • Secure contracts and preferred or exclusive agreements with hotels, special event venues, and educational facilities.
  • Maintain an accurate and timely submission of sales orders and job notes to order processing and technical teams.
  • Manage a healthy sales pipeline to consistently achieve established revenue and new client acquisition targets.
  • Support events through site visits, pre-conference planning, and venue meetings to enhance customer experience.
  • Participate in industry events, including tradeshows and networking forums, to broaden market presence.
  • Understand event cost structures to ensure profitability aligns with company guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management during sales and contract negotiation phases.
  • Ability to sell live, virtual and hybrid event technology

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive B2B/B2C sales experience, particularly in hospitality, hotel sales, or with Fortune 100/500 companies.
  • Ability to sell live event and virtual/hybrid technology; AV technology experience is a strong plus.
  • Previous corporate event sales experience
  • Proven track record in prospecting, outside sales, and cold calling with a hunter mentality.
  • Willingness to engage in occasional overnight travel.
  • Experience with large events held at hotels, universities, or corporations

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in B2B sales within the hospitality or technology (preferably AV) industry.
  • Familiarity with audio-visual technology and AV event production
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) tools and negotiation techniques.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Experience in audio-visual sales contributing to customer satisfaction and client retention.
