This role is a strong fit for someone with hands-on construction, carpentry, mechanical, low-voltage, rigging, or technical installation experience who also has a real interest in audio, music, sound systems, or AV technology.

You do not need to be a licensed electrician, and commercial AV experience is preferred but not required. The right person will be mechanically inclined, comfortable working on active job sites, able to read plans or learn to read them, and willing to travel for project work.

  • Pull, route, terminate, and label AV cabling.
  • Mount and install equipment such as speakers, displays, projectors, racks, and control panels.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and project plans.
  • Identify field conditions that may conflict with drawings and help solve installation challenges.
  • Fabricate and organize equipment racks.
  • Troubleshoot wiring, equipment, and installation issues in the field.
  • Document site details such as serial numbers, IP addresses, equipment locations, and completed work.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
  • Work closely with lead technicians, project managers, and field teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on mechanical, construction, carpentry, automotive, low-voltage, or technical installation experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think ahead on a job site.
  • Interest in audio, music, sound systems, or AV technology.
  • Ability to measure, drill, level, mount, assemble, and troubleshoot.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 40% of the time.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Reliable, safety-minded, and comfortable working as part of a field crew.

Preferred Experience

  • Commercial AV installation experience.
  • Low-voltage wiring or structured cabling experience.
  • Basic rigging experience.
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, or construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with AV cables, switchers, routers, racks, speakers, displays, or control systems.
  • Soldering or cable termination experience.
  • Basic Windows and Microsoft Office skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $25–$33 per hour, based on experience.
  • Overtime potential.
  • Annual bonus opportunities.
  • Four weeks of PTO beginning on day one.
  • Eleven paid holidays and five personal days annually.
  • Immediate 3% employer 401(k) contribution with no personal match required.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Company-paid life insurance.
