Primary Purpose:
Maintain accurate student attendance records and provide clerical support to the campus administrative staff. The Attendance Clerk ensures compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines related to student attendance and supports a welcoming and efficient front office environment for students, families, and staff.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in clerical or school office work preferred
  • Knowledge of attendance procedures and recordkeeping
  • Proficient in the use of computers and office equipment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Attendance & Records Management:
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records using the district's student information system
  • Process daily attendance reports and notify administrators of excessive absences or patterns
  • Communicate with parents/guardians to verify student absences and obtain appropriate documentation
  • Prepare and submit reports required by the district, state, and other agencies
  • Work with teachers and administrators to ensure timely submission of attendance data

Clerical & Front Office Support:
  • Answer incoming calls and provide general information or direct calls as needed
  • Greet and assist campus visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Process tardy slips, early dismissals, and student transfers
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and family information at all times
  • Assist with other general office duties such as filing, mail distribution, and data entry

Terms of Employment:
