Primary Purpose:
Maintain accurate student attendance records and process registrations and withdrawals according to established procedures. Compile and verify Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data and grades.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient data entry skills
Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of computer software programs to develop spreadsheets and reports
Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, teachers, staff, students and the public
Ability to meet established deadlines
Experience:
Two years data entry experience
Experience workingsuccessfully with children and adults
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Collect and enter accurate attendance and PEIMS data into established database according to procedures.
  2. Retrieve attendance data from student files as required by school staff.
  3. Prepare and submit reports, including attendance, grades, class/staff rosters, end-of-semester reports, or other required reports.
  4. Maintain physical and computerized attendance records, including student cumulative folders, progress and failure reports, grade books, and schedule changes if applicable.
  5. Process registration and withdrawal of students.
  6. Process and transmit requests for student records and transcripts.
  7. Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding attendance.
  8. Report all attendance problems to designated administrator.
  9. Assist in campus office as needed in providing excellent customer service and efficient operation of the campus office.
  10. Maintain confidentiality.
  11. Daily attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolong periods of sitting, walking, standing, bending, and stooping
Motion: Long periods of arm, hand, finger movement
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (up to 40+ lbs.)
Environment: Occasional district-wide travel
Mental Demands: Ability to keep a pleasant personality when greeting public and answering telephone;
maintain emotional control under stress
