Job description

About the role:

We're looking for a seasoned Senior UX Designer to help define the vision, product strategy, and user experience for BuySmart. As part of the Gartner BuySmart product group, you'll join a collaborative team of engineers, product managers, and designers committed to building world-class products that transform how businesses buy enterprise software.

In this hands-on role, you'll lead user research, create intuitive flows and wireframes, and design impactful mockups and prototypes. You'll also help maintain our design system and support quality assurance, ensuring our products deliver outstanding user experiences.

The ideal candidate has experience designing and launching SaaS products, strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and a passion for simplifying complex processes through exceptional UX.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct user research and translate findings into actionable design outcomes such as user flows, customer journey maps, and wireframes.
  • Design low and high fidelity mockups and build prototypes, iterating solutions based on user feedback.
  • Maintain and evolve the design system, including writing component specifications and defining accessibility standards.
  • Create high fidelity mockups, write JIRA tickets, and assist with acceptance testing (quality assurance).
  • Collaborate closely with remote designers, engineers, and product managers to assess feasibility and deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Distill complex B2B processes and tasks into simple, elegant user experiences.
  • Advance design concepts from sketches and wireframes to pixel-perfect designs and shipped products.

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of experience spanning the product design lifecycle with a high-growth SaaS company.
  • Proven experience designing and shipping SaaS applications that help companies manage complex processes in an elegant way.
  • Deep expertise in Figma or equivalent design software for mockups and prototyping.
  • Experience delivering responsive web designs.
  • Experience working directly with developers to assess the feasibility of proposed designs.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), human computer interaction, planning and conducting user research, user testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Experience using a design system, ideally helping define and maintain components.
  • Strong visual design, brand, and user experience instincts; ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating relevant skills in product areas such as SaaS or B2B marketplaces.
  • Creative, customer-obsessed thinker who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys solving customer problems.
  • Ability to identify acute customer pain points and translate them into specific designs, even when articulated as broad concepts.

What you will get

  • Competitive salary, generous paid time off policy, charity match program, Group Medical Insurance, Parental Leave, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and more!
  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture that embraces diversity
  • Professional development and unlimited growth opportunities
