Job Description

  • The SAP BASIS Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and performance optimization of SAP systems and databases.
  • This role ensures the availability, reliability, security, and efficient operation of SAP landscapes across development, quality assurance, and production environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

SAP System Administration

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SAP systems including ECC, BW, CRM, SRM, S/4HANA, Solution Manager, and SAP BTP integrations.
  • Perform SAP kernel upgrades, support package implementations, and enhancement pack updates.
  • Manage SAP system copies, client copies, and landscape refresh activities.
  • Monitor SAP application servers and troubleshoot technical issues.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Monitor system performance and identify bottlenecks.
  • Analyze work processes, system logs, dumps, and database performance.
  • Optimize system resources to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Perform capacity planning and system health checks.

Database Administration

  • Support SAP databases such as HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or Sybase.
  • Coordinate database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Monitor database growth and optimize performance.

Security & Compliance

  • Manage SAP user administration and authorization concepts.
  • Implement security patches, SAP Notes, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards.
  • Support audit activities and maintain system documentation.

Transport Management

  • Manage SAP Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Coordinate migration of transports across environments.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

  • Implement and support SAP High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Execute backup, restore, and failover testing procedures.
  • Develop and maintain DR documentation.

Cloud & Infrastructure Support

  • Support SAP systems hosted on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or private cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams on server, storage, and network configurations.
  • Manage operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows) supporting SAP environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
