Associate Vessel Construction Management Test Analyst
Marinette, WI • On-site
Full-time
Re-posted 2 days ago
Job description
Description
Background check, US Citizenship, secret clearance, and drug screening are requirements of this position.
The McHenry Management Group (TMMG) is seeking an Associate Vessel Construction Management (VCM) Test Analyst to support the Landing Ship Medium (LSM) Program. Working as part of the Vessel Construction Management Team, the Associate VCM Test Analyst supports the Program Test & Evaluation Manager and the Vessel Construction Management Test Analyst by providing day-to-day field oversight of shipboard construction, system completion, and Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities.
Unlike traditional shipyard test personnel, this position does not execute production testing. Instead, the Associate VCM Test Analyst serves as the field representative responsible for monitoring testing activities, verifying system readiness, collecting technical data, documenting construction and testing progress, tracking deficiencies, and reporting observations that support the Vessel Construction Management team's independent assessment of vessel readiness.
The Associate VCM Test Analyst serves as the daily "eyes and ears" of the VCM organization within the shipyard, ensuring leadership receives timely, accurate, and objective information regarding construction progress, testing activities, system completion, and emerging technical or schedule risks.
Requirements
Minimum three (3) years supporting naval shipbuilding, commercial shipbuilding, ship repair, industrial construction, manufacturing, or commissioning activities.
Experience supporting shipboard testing, quality assurance, inspections, construction management, commissioning, or production.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with shipboard mechanical, electrical, auxiliary, or piping systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting:
Fincantieri Marinette Marine

Physical Job Requirements
The physical requirements described below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Ability to work full-time on-site within an active shipyard environment throughout vessel construction.
Ability to spend the majority of each workday walking throughout shipyard facilities and vessels under construction.
Ability to climb ladders, navigate multiple decks, enter machinery spaces, and access confined or restricted areas while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods during vessel inspections and testing activities.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry equipment, drawings, computers, and safety equipment weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.
Ability to work safely around heavy industrial equipment, elevated noise levels, changing weather conditions, waterfront operations, and active construction sites.
Ability to occasionally support extended work hours during critical testing events, dock trials, harbor trials, sea trials, and vessel delivery milestones.
Education/Certification Requirements
Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
Equivalent military or commercial shipbuilding experience may be substituted for formal education.
