Job description

CloudFit Software is seeking a Software Development Engineer with experience in developing cloud-based applications and working within small, agile development teams. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of key feature areas in a product(s), from reviewing upcoming work items to driving them to a successful release.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will tackle complex problems within system and architectural boundaries and work closely with customers to validate feature requirements, ensuring the highest level of customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning new technologies and adapting to the evolving needs of the company and its customers.
Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of product features from backlog to support and maintenance
  • Apply engineering best practices throughout all phases of a project lifecycle, including daily stand-ups, code reviews, source code management, deployment processes, and production code support
  • Communicate effectively with users, engineers, and management to translate requirements into deployable software
  • Actively participate in engineering meetings and cross-team mentoring activities
  • Participate in an On-Call rotation for production platform support
  • Negotiate trade-offs between software quality and time to market
  • Travel to support customers in air-gapped environments

Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ months of professional application development experience in a modern software development role
  • Familiarity with full-stack development and basic knowledge of computer science fundamentals like object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, providing technical evaluations
  • Familiarity with Agile environments and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Basic understanding of SOLID Principles and programming fundamentals
  • Experience with REST APIs and single-page applications
  • Knowledge of server (microservice) and monolith architectures
  • Proficiency in unit and integration testing

Tools/Languages:
  • Experience with developing cloud-native applications and familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Knowledge of software developer tools like Java, Node.js, .NET, React, and C#
  • Basic understanding of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker/Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of application instrumentation and monitoring systems
  • Awareness of cloud and data storage design patterns
  • Cloud and DevOps certifications
  • A degree in Computer Science or related field

The salary range for this role is $44,000 - $100,000 + benefits, & perks.
Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be commensurate with the candidate's final level and location. Also, the range represents salary only and does not include our total rewards package.
