Designer - Manitowoc, WI
At Manitowoc Ice, a Division of Pentair, you will work alongside passionate problem-solvers who are committed to the future of our planet. We have an opportunity for a Designer to join our Manitowoc, WI team. You will support the design, development, and continuous improvement of ice-making equipment and related systems. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in electro-mechanical or industrial design and a strong interest in product development within a manufacturing environment.
You will:
  • Assist in the design and development of electro-mechanical components and systems for commercial ice machines
  • Create and update 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings
  • Support product improvements, cost reductions, and design optimization initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain
  • Participate in design reviews, testing, and validation of new products and features
  • Troubleshoot design issues and support root cause analysis activities
  • Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and bills of materials

Key Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or related experience in lieu of education within an engineering field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Exposure to electro-mechanical design principles or industrial product design
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, plastics, assembly, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Engineering Software Experience Preferred: SolidWorks, Creo, PDM systems
  • Experience with refrigeration systems (highly preferred but not required)
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
  • Exposure to prototype builds, testing, and validation
  • ERP Software Experience, Preferred: Oracle, SAP

Shift/Position:
  • 6:00 - 3:00pm or 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday

Compensation:
The hourly pay for this role is: $30.00/hr. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training. Actual pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.
