Job description

Objective
The Controls Engineering Supervisor in Sheboygan WI is responsible for leading and supporting the execution of multiple projects within the Controls Engineering organization. Responsibilities include managing individual project workload as well as leading project teams related to troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading of electrical systems of automated controls.
Main Responsibilities
  • Develops, coordinates, and directs the installation of control systems of industrial equipment, facilities and operations, all with the support of other technical and systems operations. This includes purchasing equipment, project cost, delivery, timing, installation and launch to customer specifications.
  • Develops, implements, and tests equipment software including PLC ladder logic, ABB software, Fanuc software, NORIS and any other custom software at the manufacturing facility.
  • Supervises a team of Automation Control Technicians that directly support floor functions to maintain machine uptime, troubleshooting and improvements.
  • With the use of root cause analysis, problem solving tools (ie 5-why, etc.) and cross function teams, and personal skills, troubleshoots and repairs of manufacturing equipment as needed to support maintenance schedule. Develops technical documentation to support Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting guides to support equipment uptime.
  • Coaches, mentors, and trains team with on-the-job (OJT) training, offsite training and daily work.

Position Requirements
  • Associate Degree in a related field
  • Previous PLC and HMI programming and troubleshooting
  • Control system design experience with Allen Bradley preferred, Siemens a plus
  • Knowledge of vision system, ABB robotics and Fanuc
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisor or leadership
