Job Duties

Responsible for the day-to-day leadership up to 4 software engineers and technology required for business applications and systems to meet business centric KPIs and SLAs. Leads the engineering, design, testing and implementation of software solutions that provides a robust technical infrastructure used by business units and applications.  Plays a lead role in creating & executing tactical plans/procedures for the team.  Supports achieving the operational goals of the team.

  • Sets project schedules, designing project parameters, and coordinating/monitoring tasks
  • Is responsible for the software engineering strategic roadmap, definition, and implementation
  • Ensures team members deliver project tasks on schedule and as designed
  • Participates in defining and developing tasks among team members within an agile environment
  • Recommends and implements process improvements
  • Conducts technical presentations with peers
  • Commits time, focus, and energy on technical development. Provide coaching and performance feedback for each Associate
  • Advocates for team by moving decisions forward and eliminating barriers
  • Provides day to day guidance, direction, and workload prioritization to the team
  • Assist team members with day-to-day work and execution of tasks as needed
  • Participate in continuing education and training as appropriate.
  • Participate in career development activities for the Software Engineer team
  • Complete performance evaluations for Software Engineer team
  • Resolves customer complaints with software, and responds to suggestions for software modifications
  • Participate in development of software user manuals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, and/or design
  • Leadership experience is preferred
  • Experience with agile development
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field
  • 3 + years in experience in software engineering, systems engineering, and/or design
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office applications
  • Up to 10% of travel
