Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Overflow night shift position in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac nursing experience and AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
Job Details
• Night shift position: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• 13-week contract,
• 24-bed Telemetry unit within a Medical Surgical Combination department,
• Cardiac patient population ranging from young adults to elderly adults; common diagnoses include chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre- and post-care for cardiac caths (groin and radial), and VATS,
• Patient ratio of 4:1,
• Equipment used includes LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo monitors,
• Cerner EMR (experience preferred),
• Every other weekend required,
• No on-call requirements,
• May occasionally float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical units,
• No floating requirement within primary unit,
Job Requirements
• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state currently in hand,
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Cardiac/telemetry nursing experience required,
• Proficiency with LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment required,
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required,
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration,
Additional Information
• Provide telemetry and cardiac nursing care including monitoring and pre/post procedure care for cardiac catheterization patients,
• Orientation is offered twice monthly,
• The facility is a 355-bed Duke LifePoint hospital home to specialized centers including a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, and Level 3 NICU,
• Family-oriented unit culture,
• Any color scrubs are acceptable,
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; candidates within 60 miles may be considered at a local rate,
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible,
• Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
