The Associate Project Manager is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of audiovisual systems integration projects by coordinating project activities, managing schedules, budgets, and resources, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to Solotech quality standards. Working under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager and the Director, the Associate Project Manager will build independence while delivering exceptional customer experiences and successful project outcomes.
Your day will look like this:
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Design teams to assist in developing project scope
  • Create and execute project communication plans tailored to each project's needs
  • Develop and manage project schedules while coordinating internal and external resources
  • Assist in identifying, managing, and resolving project risks with guidance from Senior Project Managers and leadership
  • Facilitate internal and external project kickoff meetings with cross-functional teams, customers, and third-party vendors
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders
  • Manage project budgets and monitor equipment, labor, subcontractor, and miscellaneous costs throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify project issues impacting profitability and communicate risks to leadership
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate procurement activities, including subcontractors, rentals, and material orders
  • Ensure project deliverables meet Solotech quality standards and customer expectations
  • Manage project scope changes in accordance with established change order procedures
  • Coordinate system programming, commissioning, and final system checkout
  • Develop and manage punch lists through project completion
  • Coordinate customer training and project turnover to clients, Service, and Sales teams
  • Prepare and provide project closeout documentation for future service support
  • Supervise and monitor project teams to ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Maintain regular communication and project updates with Solotech leadership
  • Promote a safe work environment through compliance with health and safety requirements
  • Travel to customer sites as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Your profile:
  • High school diploma required
  • Degree in Business Administration, Management, or equivalent project coordination experience is considered an asset
  • CAPM or other project management certification is considered an asset
  • AVIXA CTS certification is considered an asset
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in the audiovisual, construction, or related industry preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of project management or project coordination experience
  • Experience leading projects and coordinating cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with Office365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience working with all levels of management
  • Experience reading AutoCAD drawings is considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Creative problem-solving and analytical abilities

Preferred Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems
  • Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems
  • Knowledge of construction site operations, safety requirements, and compliance practices
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and software
  • Knowledge of project financials, including budgets, revenue, and margins
  • Ability to interpret technical, contractual, and construction documents

  • Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record required
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight at job sites throughout the United States
