Job description

Cyber Project Manager, Principal Associate

Capital One is seeking a strong, experienced Principal Associate, Project Management to lead the development and delivery of key solutions in a cloud first technology environment. As a member of the Cyber Execution and Transformation (CET) team, the associate will be responsible for overseeing the success of Cyber-owned programs that have enterprise level impacts.

The associate will be responsible for reporting, cross-team coordination to remove impediments and solve technical issues, and partnering closely with impacted engineering teams to enable successful delivery. A strong candidate will have a proven track record of delivering solutions from scratch through implementation as well as rigorous analytical skills experience with leading and developing a new initiative. They will assemble the right teams and scope, anticipate bottlenecks, escalate when necessary, make trade-off decisions, and ultimately deliver a program that secures Capital One's environment. They will be a clear thinker, thrive in working across teams, and be an expert in dealing with ambiguity.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • At least 3 years of Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA)

  • 5+ years experience in Program Management

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in project or program management

  • 2+ years of experience working within technology

  • 2+ years experience leading in a Cyber focused organization

  • Corporate management consulting experience

  • Financial Services industry experience

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence

  • Google Suite Upscaled Proficiency

  • Project Management (PMP), Program Management (PgMP), Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Project Manager


Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Project Manager










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
