Position Overview
The Pelotonia Research Center (PRC) Associate Project Manager serves the Enterprise for Research, Innovation & Knowledge's Research Infrastructure & Strategic Initiatives team to coordinate building services functions and provide administrative assistance for ERIK-administered research spaces, with primary assignment to the PRC in the Innovation District.
The PRC Associate Project Manager collaborates with the Research Infrastructure team, building tenants, and Facilities Operations and Development (FOD) and Information Technology liaisons in a broad range of project planning, building services functions, business continuity, and crisis management activities including scheduling, overseeing, and coordinating maintenance, monitoring and improving custodial, shipping/receiving, and building or service improvement projects. Coordinates and communicates with tenants, PRC Principal Project Manager, and appropriate university units regarding scheduled maintenance and to resolve time-sensitive service or safety problems, which may include power outages. Serves as backup building coordinator for the PRC and additional ERIK-administered research buildings as assigned.
Promotes safety and security by developing and maintaining a security access system, coordinating requests for access to specific building spaces, and identifying, investigating, and resolving issues with compliance and safety standards in coordination with Associate Vice President of Research Facilities & Infrastructure and other university units (e.g. Lock and Key Services). Advises on and executes standard operating policies and procedures for facility operation, physical maintenance, and space governance; facilitates the monitoring and enforcement of space assignments; serves as first line of customer service for space utilization problems and conflicts. Plans and coordinates with the Research Infrastructure team and tenants to execute all moves, space renovations, and/or equipment accommodations.
The PRC Associate Project Manager provides exceptional customer service and performs duties that may include committee and meeting coordination and materials preparation, scheduling of shared facilities, event support, and project/administrative support to the Director. Coordinates the space request and annual review/reporting processes delineated in the OR Space Governance Policy and in support of the ERIK Space Governance Committee. Works closely with the AVP to manage logistic and administrative functions for shared services and core laboratories within the PRC.
The PRC Associate Project Manager will ensure the PRC is an environment that fosters the highest level of interdisciplinary research and creative expression in support of the University's goal to expand sponsored research. Similarly, the PRC Associate Project Manager will ensure the PRC serves the larger Innovation District "Live, Play, Innovate" ecosystem through oversight of space use and execution/assessment of community-building programs and services.
Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned with potential for progressive levels of responsibility.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • 2 years relevant experience.
  • Strong administrative, project management, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of university facilities, processes and relevant policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Salary
The pay range for this job profile is $51,500.00 - $67,250.00. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on the candidate's skills, experience, and education; university equity assessments; and the unit's budget.
Work Location
Position requires onsite presence five days per week. This role's working location is the front desk of the PRC. The PRC Associate Project Manager will provide front desk coverage, serve as the first point of contact for all visitors, and deliver exceptional customer service by greeting individuals, answering questions, and guiding them to the appropriate departments or resources.
