Why this job matters:
Working closely with product owners, scrum masters, developers, analysts, configuration admins, technical leads, architects, release management, integration, security, and data teams, this role directs the quality assurance strategy and execution for a Salesforce delivery pod supporting Sales, Service, and Configuration workstreams. Responsible for organizing all testing activities across day-to-day support and project delivery, defining test approach and coverage, coordinating QA work across agile/scrum ceremonies, validating Salesforce configuration and custom development, ensuring regression readiness, and driving quality practices that improve release confidence, production stability, and user outcomes.
Platform scope: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Financial Services Cloud where applicable, Data Cloud integrations, Salesforce platform configuration, Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, APIs, integration touchpoints, test data, automation frameworks, CI/CD validation, and connected enterprise systems.
What you will do:
  • Lead and coordinate all QA activities for a Salesforce pod that includes developers, QA analysts, business analysts, and configuration admins, ensuring testing work is organized, estimated, sequenced, reviewed, and completed within agile/scrum delivery cycles.
  • Define and maintain the Salesforce QA strategy for Sales, Service, and Configuration workstreams, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing support, data validation, smoke testing, and release readiness validation.
  • Partner with product owners, scrum masters, analysts, technical leads, and developers to refine user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, test data needs, dependencies, and definition of done expectations before sprint commitment.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, traceability, regression suites, and quality metrics for both project delivery and day-to-day enhancement and support work.
  • Lead QA planning and execution across agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, defect triage, sprint reviews, retrospectives, release planning, and post-release validation.
  • Coordinate with developers and configuration admins to validate Salesforce configuration, automation, Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, APIs, security, integrations, reporting, and user experience changes against business and technical requirements.
  • Direct end-to-end testing across Salesforce and connected enterprise systems, including API, middleware, data synchronization, event-driven, batch, contact center, document management, identity, reporting, and downstream integration scenarios where applicable.
  • Establish and maintain regression testing practices that support reliable Salesforce releases, including core business process coverage, high-risk process coverage, automation candidates, release impact analysis, and reusable test assets.
  • Lead defect management activities, including defect logging, prioritization, triage, root cause analysis, retest coordination, closure validation, trend analysis, and communication of quality risks and release impacts.
  • Define and monitor quality metrics such as test coverage, defect leakage, escaped defects, regression pass rate, automation coverage, test execution progress, test data readiness, and release quality indicators.
  • Partner with release management and DevOps teams to support CI/CD validation, deployment verification, smoke testing, change control, rollback planning, environment readiness, and release signoff activities.
  • Coordinate test data management for Salesforce initiatives, including data setup, masking or privacy considerations, migration validation, reconciliation, data quality checks, and repeatable test data preparation.
  • Support compliance, privacy, security, accessibility, and auditability expectations by ensuring test coverage includes role-based access, field-level security, sharing, least-privilege access, data protection, reporting accuracy, and regulatory considerations.
  • Lead production validation and support root cause analysis for quality-related incidents, defects, integration failures, data issues, access issues, automation errors, regression gaps, and user-reported Salesforce issues.
  • Coach and mentor QA team members, analysts, developers, and configuration admins on quality practices, test case design, acceptance criteria, test automation opportunities, defect quality, risk-based testing, and agile QA discipline.
  • Maintain and improve QA documentation, including test strategy, test plans, test cases, automation notes, traceability, release validation checklists, defect reports, QA standards, and support handoff materials.
  • Continuously assess Salesforce platform releases, AppExchange changes, testing tools, automation frameworks, and QA practices to recommend improvements that increase test reliability, reduce manual effort, and improve delivery velocity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five to seven years of quality assurance, quality engineering, or software testing experience with significant experience testing Salesforce platform solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading QA execution for agile/scrum teams or pods supporting a mix of project delivery, enhancements, configuration, integration testing, regression testing, and operational support work.
  • Experience testing Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud capabilities, including business process validation, configuration validation, integration validation, security/access testing, reporting validation, and release readiness testing.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform testing practices, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, user acceptance testing support, production smoke testing, and release validation.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce configuration and administration concepts, including objects, fields, page layouts, Lightning record pages, flows, validation rules, approval processes, profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing rules, reports, and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce development and technical capabilities, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, Salesforce Flow, APIs, platform events, and integration patterns, with the ability to design appropriate test coverage for technical changes.
  • Ability to direct QA work across QA analysts, developers, analysts, and configuration admins, ensuring clear test planning, work breakdown, sequencing, estimation, dependency management, and delivery accountability.
  • Strong understanding of agile/scrum delivery practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, definition of ready, definition of done, and test execution management.
  • Ability to interpret business requirements, technical designs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings, and integration specifications and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
  • Experience with test management, defect management, traceability, test evidence, test reporting, QA metrics, and quality risk communication to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of risk-based testing and the ability to prioritize test coverage based on business impact, technical complexity, user impact, integration risk, production defect history, and release scope.
  • Experience validating Salesforce security and access models, including profiles, permission sets, role hierarchy, sharing rules, field-level security, object permissions, auditability, and least-privilege access expectations.
  • Experience testing integrations between Salesforce and internal or external systems using secure and governed approaches, including data synchronization, API-led, event-driven, batch, and middleware-based patterns.
  • Experience with test automation concepts and the ability to identify automation candidates, collaborate on automation frameworks, review automated test coverage, and balance automated and manual testing approaches.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD and release management practices, including deployment validation, environment readiness, source control awareness, build verification, change control, release signoff, and post-deployment verification.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce data concepts, including standard and custom objects, relationships, data quality, test data management, data migration validation, data reconciliation, and reporting accuracy.
