General Purpose
The Process Engineer - Clean In Place (CIP) Equipment provides remote and on-site technical support to maintenance teams, particularly during major overhauls, CAPEX projects and equipment breakdowns across production lines. This role is also responsible for designing, delivering and continuously improving specialized training programs focused on the CIP systems used in the production lines for soft drinks and water.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert in CIP technologies for CCSWB.
  • Runs and designs field tests for automation initiatives with the ability to tailor test protocols for the CIP equipment.
  • Project Management and guides processes for planning work and monitoring progress to achieve desired outcomes in CIP equipment.
  • Leads multiple small projects or supports larger projects within their functional area. Creates project schedule for their work.
  • Technical Communication for Business Effectiveness (Advises and educates colleagues by disseminating key facts and presenting complex information in a concise and easy-to-understand manner.) Documents and communicates routine technical data.
  • Train maintenance associates using approved procedures and a hands-on approach when creating standard operating procedures (SOP) and providing curriculum training.
  • Develop root cause and technical failure analyses related to breakdowns or failures in CIP equipment.

Develop maintenance training material for the CIP equipment, which includes:
  • Overview of CIP processes
  • Microbiology
  • SCADA and data centers for CIP systems
  • Operation and maintenance
  • Cleaning and sanitation procedures
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Mix-proof technology.
  • Quality control parameters and compliance standards

Provide technical assistance to the maintenance teams before, during and after major interventions in CIP equipment, and during breakdowns, which include:
  • Performing process analyses
  • Guiding contractors and maintenance teams in complex technical problem- solving situations
  • Analyzing predictive maintenance variables in critical equipment

Maintain and update asset records of CIP equipment:
  • Consolidating and maintaining technical information database of CIP equipment in CCSWB
  • Evaluating solution providers
  • Evaluating assets to identify CAPEX investments

Other duties may be assigned based on business needs or directed by management.
Work Environment:
  • Moderate to high noise; PPE required
  • Temperature range: 25°F-120°F
  • High mobility (10,000+ steps daily)
  • ~75% travel required
  • Flexible schedule based on business needs

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics, or related field
  • 5-10+ years of experience in CIP equipment (Industrial projects or maintenance)
  • Knowledge of industrial codes and standards (ISO, OSHA, FDA)
  • Experience with technologies from OEMs such Krones, KHS, Tetra Pak or similar
  • 75% travel

Preferred:
  • Experience in the beverage industry
  • Familiarity with automation systems and integration with CIPs
  • Project Management training
  • Root cause analysis / failure analysis training
  • Microsoft 365-Intermediate level
  • Microsoft Project - Intermediate level
  • Experience providing training (Industry or Academy)
  • AutoCAD 2D & 3D - Intermediate level
