Job description

Gโ€‘3 Chickadeeโ€”formerly part of Goodyear Chemicalโ€”is undergoing a major transformation. As a newly independent, Private Equityโ€“backed organization, we are modernizing our infrastructure, implementing new systems (SAP, MES, cybersecurity), and building a strong operational foundation for continued growth.

The Process Unit Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of their assigned organization. This position provides leadership and is accountable for meeting production/quality goals (in accordance with the Annual Operating Plan [AOP]) while sustaining the highest level of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance.


What You Will Do

  • Ensure compliance with all Internal/external HSE and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements in the operating area
  • Establish HSE/PSM expectations and lead by example. Monitor performance against expectations and take corrective action (where necessary)
  • Hold the team accountable for compliance with the Fundamentals of Safety/Environmental Compliance
  • Provide direction/oversight to day-to-day operations. Monitor operations to optimize efficiency, prevent downtime and achieve AOP goals for production, quality and fixed costs.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Technology teams to achieve operations goals. Identify critical activities, develop and execute plans to manage equipment performance - Thereby achieving production tickets while minimizing costs and off-spec losses
  • Ensure direct reports are informed, aligned, and engaged to support goals and objectives. Lead development effort for associates and hold team members accountable for their performance
  • Support the plantโ€™s Quality initiatives and activities. Participate in Quality audits, address customer complaints and implement corrective/preventative action requests (stemming from investigatory findings)
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Technology teams to implement process improvements
  • Support positive employee relations efforts to maintain a cooperative environment for achieving business goals

What You Bring

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of process equipment and good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lead/manage others

Required

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or in lieu of degree 10 or more years of experience in an Engineering/Operations function
  • 5 or more years of experience in an Engineering/Operations function
  • Prior (relevant) experience in Chemical Plant Operations

  • Masterโ€™s Degree
  • Experience leading others
