Job description

Gโ€‘3 Chickadeeโ€”formerly part of Goodyear Chemicalโ€”is undergoing a major transformation. As a newly independent, Private Equityโ€“backed organization, we are modernizing our infrastructure, implementing new systems (SAP, MES, cybersecurity), and building a strong operational foundation for continued growth. Local candidates preferred due to proximity to the worksite and interview/ onboarding logistics. Relocation is not available.


The Technology Engineer โ€“ Associate, reporting to the Operations Manager, will develop technical proficiency and apply good engineering practices in assigned process areas at the Houston facility. This position will collect, analyze and report on plant process performance and work closely with operations and maintenance on plant continuous improvement efforts.


What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Technical Support - Routinely interface with operations/maintenance teams to stay current with day-to-day activities. Provides troubleshooting to address process/equipment concerns. Utilize process data to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Quality Management - Investigates and determines corrective actions for incidents impacting product quality. Performs scheduled process quality internal audits and presents findings. Maintains operating work instructions/procedures for designated areas. Coordinates raw material/finished product trials.
  • Project Management - Provides technical support for small capital project work (in designated areas). Utilizes the capital project charter to acquire necessary approvals and maintain adequate communications. Specifies necessary operating conditions. Works with the Engineering department to design equipment according to recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEP). Measures business impact following project implementation.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Support - Provides technical support for the accurate risk assessment of plant processes and the safe handling of raw materials. Identifies/Pursues actions that reduce plant environmental footprint.

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering
  • 2 or more years of experience working as an Engineer in a chemical manufacturing process


Preferred

  • Masterโ€™s degree in engineering (Chemical Preferred)
  • Experience in working with multidisciplinary technical associates to achieve cost effective goals
  • Project management experience
