Aquatech has an immediate need for a full time Pre Contract Process Engineer to work in our Houston, TX office. The hours are Monday โ€“ Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. The Process Engineer will report to the Vice President of Process Development and will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.

The ideal candidate will have excellent math skills, applied creativity, mechanical skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail, and be team oriented and customer service driven. This candidate will also have ten years of related professional experience.

Job Description:

  • Participating in meetings with potential customers struggling to formulate a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) soliciting bids for water and wastewater treatment systems and guide to helping such potential customers to develop a concept design to be succeeded by paid โ€œEngineering Services Agreement (ESA)โ€ from us which facilitate them to develop a formal RFP or preferably procure directly from us on exclusivity basis. ย  ย 
  • Review customer inputs to formulate โ€œDesign Basis Report (DBR)โ€ for concept development with a clear project objective in discussion with client representatives.ย 

  • Develop multiple design alternatives with appropriate โ€œBlock Flow Diagram (BFD)โ€ incorporating critical expected performance data for each design alternative.ย 

  • Perform concept-design stage process calculations to properly size non-thermal treatment processes and equipment for selected design configurations.ย 

  • Facilitate internal review of concept-design stage sizing of non-thermal treatment processes and equipment for selected design configurations with appropriate application team (AIC or ASA) as deemed appropriate by management team.ย 

  • Coordinate concept-design stage process calculations with ICD group to properly size thermal treatment processes and equipment for selected design configuration.

  • Coordinate and participate in necessary laboratory or pilot testing deemed necessary for any proposed process configuration in the concept-design.ย 

  • Develop concept-design stage Process Flow Diagram (PFD) utilizing draftsperson from appropriate application team (AIC or ASA) as part of the concept note (CN) submissions.ย 

  • Develop a budgetary cost estimate for the proposed system utilizing resources from โ€œCost Estimationโ€ team.ย 

  • Compile a comprehensive โ€œConcept Note (CN)โ€ as final deliverable for concept design.ย ย 

  • Organize โ€œWorkshop on Concept Note Process Evaluationโ€ with relevant stakeholders from both client representatives and relevant AIC/ ASA team members, and secure client decision on selecting best process configuration for continuing work during next intended phase of โ€œEngineering Services Agreement (ESA)โ€.ย ย  ย  ย 

  • Draft โ€œEngineering Services Agreement (ESA)โ€ proposal to be submitted to clients for securing paid preliminary process development activities with scope of work outlined by client in the โ€œWorkshop on Concept Note Process Evaluationโ€, where appropriate.ย 

  • Assist Sales and Business Development team in responding to customer queries.

  • Other duties as assignedย

ยท Must be proficient in reading and understanding (P&IDโ€™s) for water and wastewater projects.

ยท Ability to use personal computer (MS Word & Excel) to develop designs, spreadsheets and author system narratives at a high level of proficiency.

ยท (Future) Ability to prepare and present AIC system design concepts in classroom settings.

ยท Proficient in use of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access.
