Description
St. John Paul II Catholic Parish is seeking a faith-filled, organized, and collaborative individual to serve as our Part-Time Pastoral Associate & Ministry Coordinator. This position works closely with the Pastor & staff to strengthen parish life by supporting ministries, fostering communication, coordinating outreach, and helping develop new initiatives that engage parishioners in the life and mission of the Church.
Position Details
โ€ข Part-time position averaging 15 - 20 hours per week.
โ€ข Flexible schedule based on parish ministry needs with occasional weekends and evenings required for parish events and activities.
Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Pastor and to develop, implement, and support new parish ministries and pastoral initiatives.
  • Coordinate and strengthen existing parish ministries by providing organization, communication, and ongoing support.
  • Facilitate ministry planning meetings and promote collaboration among ministry leaders.
  • Coordinate parish events, volunteer efforts, and ministry activities.
  • Welcome and assist new parishioners in becoming connected to the parish community and its ministries.
  • Coordinate parish outreach efforts and provide timely follow-up with visitors, volunteers, and those expressing interest in parish life.
  • Support the implementation of recommendations and priorities established through the Parish Pastoral Council.
  • Maintain effective communication with parish staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers to ensure successful planning and execution of parish programs.
  • Perform other pastoral and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Practicing Catholic with a strong commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit, encourage, and work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and ministry leaders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Teams, Power Point) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive) and comfortable learning parish and communication software.

The ideal candidate has a heart for serving others, enjoys building relationships, and is passionate about helping people grow in their faith while supporting the mission of the parish.
