Overview

The Associate Media Director, Paid Social is responsible for the overall success of the ongoing paid social media campaign activations for a national automotive client. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for paid social media and a proven track record of implementing successful paid social media tactics. This person must also possess a passion for continuous improvement and learning as the landscape continues to evolve. Prior supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day media buying operations and support strategic planning and optimization for national paid social campaigns on behalf of a premier automotive client.
  • Oversee and develop a team of 10, including supervisors and strategists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for media planning, operations, and analytics teams, as well as paid social platform and technology partners.
  • Develop and advise on paid social activation plans in response to client RFPs, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
  • Partner closely with social platform teams to incorporate innovative ad technologies and emerging formats that drive performance and differentiation.
  • Manage all financial aspects of campaigns, including budget tracking, fee management, and ensuring accurate monthly billing.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze key metrics, and provide actionable insights to optimize results and meet client KPIs.
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies to proactively recommend innovative strategies for clients.
  • Communicate key learnings to appropriate agency and client stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency of campaign deployment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communication, Computer Science or related field.
  • 6-8 years of paid media experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience with paid social advertising and client management.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to teams and manage client relationships.
  • Proficiency with Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Reddit and Snapchat that includes a clear understanding of each platform's core features, as well as a technical understanding of each network's advertising capabilities.
  • Proficiency with both Business Manager and Ad Manager dashboards for all core platforms, including ad placement, budget management, pixel creation, offline event sets, and advanced reporting.
  • Experience handling large media budgets and developing insights based on campaign results.
  • Experience utilizing tools like Sprinklr, Asana, Google Docs, etc. are a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task.
  • Automotive experience is beneficial, major brand and large budget experience is required.
  • An ideal candidate will be a self-starter with natural curiosity, comfortable in the unknown, and a strong communicator.
