Job description

POSITION TITLE:              Group Leader
DEPARTMENT:                     Casegoods

JOB TYPE:                              Full-Time, First Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Overtime and Saturdays as required.

REPORTS TO:                        Casegoods Supervisor

FLSA STATUS:                        Non-Exempt

DESCRIPTION

This position will be responsible for meeting production and shipping dates; maintaining production and quality standards, training associates and maintaining a safe working environment.  This position will coordinate 20 or more people in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage employees daily activities to meet production goals
  • Ensures production, quality and safety standards are met
  • Lead and direct employees to work in a productive, efficient and safe manner
  • Interact with the other manufacturing teams to prioritize and close out orders
  • Plan and provide training to employees on processes and equipment
  • Enforce plant rules and regulations
  • Play a key role in implementing LEAN manufacturing philosophies, techniques, and practical process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • The successful candidate will have 2 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear English communication skills (oral and written).  Spanish a plus.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Ability to train others
  • Must be able to have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
