Job description

Let your journey begin. Howmet is now seeking for a Maintenance Electronic Technician in its Winsted, CT Location. 

Job Summary

As the Maintenance Electronic Technician, you will be required to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and upgrade manufacturing equipment.

Essential Functions

• Troubleshoot CNC/PLC controlled equipment problems using schematics and manuals

• Perform basic and complex machine/plant wiring

• Use test equipment to solve problems

• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC servo drives, power supplies, and feedback devices

• Troubleshoot/replace various switches and electrical components

• Design/assist in equipment refurbishments and /or upgrades

Job Responsibilities

• Partner with vendors as needed

• Order parts, replace inventory

• Maintain 6S and other area housekeeping standards

• Participate and actively promote continuous improvement activities

• Actively participate in job specific training, promote and comply with all Quality and EHS programs and policies.

• Follow policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook

• Maintain acceptable attendance

• Perform all other job duties as assigned

Education:

• HS diploma/GED required

• Associate's degree in electronics preferred

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge/experience/training with machine tool controls CNC and PLC

• Experience with 480/277/220 three phase power, transformers and wiring.

• Use of advanced trades math together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts and technical skills knowledge

• Ability to plan, troubleshoot, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes

• Ability to interpret instructions, prescribed routines, methods and practices

• Ability to manage multiple priorities

• Computer experience in related maintenance databases

• Background with electrical engineering, preferred
