SUMMARY
Conducts college courses for undergraduate students within the prescribed curriculum providing classroom and clinical instruction in the field of Nursing at South Plains College, by performing the following duties. The position is located on the Levelland Campus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Those requirements outlined in the South Plains College Faculty Handbook for instructors, as well as those special requirements related to Associate Degree Nursing Program, include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Program Director.
All faculty are required to perform/attend clinical assignments at approved clinical affiliate locations for their respective program as directed by supervisor.
Teaches Associate Degree Nursing courses within prescribed curriculum.
Conducts classroom instruction, including the utilization of varied teaching methods.
Develops and implements plans for students learning experience. Compiles, administers, and grades examinations and course assignments.
Develops and maintains a climate in both the classroom and clinical setting that is conducive to personal and professional growth and is consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the program.
Performs related duties such as advising students on academic curricula, and may be asked to act as adviser to student organizations.
Serves on faculty committees both in the Associate Degree Nursing Program and South Plains College general committees.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises students in the clinical affiliates. Makes assignments in the clinical areas of the hospital and community health agencies that correlate with the classroom instruction.

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) required. Teaching experience preferred but not required. A minimum of three years experience in the practice of professional nursing required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
