Senior Director of Marketing, Lilly Brand Office
Position Overview
Lilly is staffing for a Senior Director of Marketing who will be responsible for leading the Lilly Brand Office, reporting to the Associate Vice President of Marketing, Masterbrand. The Lilly Brand Office is responsible for the Lilly visual identity, brand book and brand governance system and provides creative oversight and support for the implementation and application of the Lilly brand, ensuring the brand shows up consistently and compliantly across every touchpoint. The Brand Office owns and leads the tools, resources, and brand assets that equip global teams to use the brand efficiently and effectively - working in close partnership with teams across the enterprise to uphold brand integrity at every level.
The ideal candidate is a confident, solutions-oriented brand leader with extensive experience in brand management and a passion for creative excellence. This person thrives in complexity -navigating a matrixed, highly regulated, global environment with ease, while keeping the work moving and teams engaged. They bring a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams of brand marketers and creatives, overseeing creative development, and handling agencies and vendors with rigor. This individual leads with influence, builds trust across senior leaders and cross-functional teams, and establishes new creative and operational capabilities that keep pace with an evolving brand landscape. The right candidate will grow and inspire their team while positioning the Brand Office as a trusted partner throughout the global enterprise.
Responsibilities
  • Brand Leadership & Strategy: Serve as the enterprise lead for the Lilly brand - being responsible for the brand governance system, visual identity standards, and brand book, and ensuring their consistent, compliant application across a global organization. Translate masterbrand strategy into clear operational frameworks that equip teams to deliver with confidence and adherence to brand policies.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and inspire a high-performing team of brand marketers and creatives. Set a high bar for excellence while fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous development. Continue strengthen a team that is recognized across the enterprise as a best-in-class brand function and partner.
  • Creative Oversight & Excellence: Provide strategic creative direction and oversight of the Lilly brand across above and below-the-line brand assets. Maintain a strong creative eye while balancing brand integrity and strategic objectives with the evolving needs of a complex, global business.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership & Influence: Build and sustain trusted partnerships across senior leadership and cross-functional teams throughout the enterprise. Lead with influence in a matrixed environment, navigating complexity and ambiguity without losing momentum or alignment.
  • Agency & Vendor Management: Manage high-performing agency and vendor relationships - setting clear expectations, holding partners accountable to scope, quality, and strategic intent, and continuously evaluating partnership performance against business needs.
  • Operational Excellence & Brand Enablement: Design and sustain the operational infrastructure, tools, resources, and brand assets that enable global teams to use the Lilly brand efficiently, effectively, and compliantly at scale. Build scalable processes that reduce friction and increase brand consistency across markets and functions.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budget management across the Brand Office - ensuring resources are allocated strategically and deliver measurable impact.
  • Risk Management: Partner with Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Privacy, and IT to ensure brand governance practices meet regulatory and policy standards across all markets.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years' experience in brand management or related brand marketing field

  • Experience in a creative agency environment and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, print production, and brand merchandising are a plus

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$154,500 - $226,600
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
