GENERAL FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Youth Development Director, theย YLC Site Administrator willย  be responsible for the daily administration, operation, and implementation of an assigned Yย  Learning Center site. This position ensures the delivery of a safe, high quality, licensedย  school age childcare program while supervising site staff, supporting children and families,ย  and maintaining compliance with YMCA standards and the State of Michigan Child Careย  Licensing Rules.ย ย 

The Site Administrator serves as the designated person in charge of the site whenever theย  Youth Development Manager or YLC Program Administrator is not present. This leader isย  responsible for maintaining a positive, engaging, and nurturing environment that supportsย  the YMCAโ€™s mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.


SITE LOCATION PLACEMENT
The Site Lead will be located at Disney Elementary, part of Fraser Public Schools and will receive their school site location, from Management, based on staff availability and levels in the area.
QUALIFICATIONS
ย  Associateโ€™s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in any field ofย  study.
ย  Completed 15 hours of school age child care training.
ย  Requires the individual must be 19 years of age.

ย  Meets the requirements set forth by the state-licensing agency.

ย  Documentation of DHS clearance prior to starting work, and CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Safe certifications are required within 30 days.ย  Complete Blood Borne Pathogens training, Redwoods, and concussion training as required.ย 

ABILITIES & SKILLS
ย  Ability to participate in, plan, and lead all physical activities
ย  Ability to sit and stand from a seated position on the floor when interacting with children
ย  Capability to be outside for up to 30 minutes a day, year-round

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
ย  ย Serve as the designated Site Administrator during all operating hours, providing dayย  to day operational leadership and support to the Y Learning Center.ย ย 

Ensure compliance with State of Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules, YMCA policies,ย  and safety standards, while maintaining a safe, welcoming and inclusive environmentย  for all youth participants.ย ย 

Maintain appropriate staff to child ratios and overall program quality to ensure anย  optimal environment for children and families.ย ย 

Respond promptly to parent, child, and staff concerns with excellent customerย  care/service, while maintaining confidentiality and being professional.ย ย 

Directly oversee and coach assigned site staff to foster teamwork, modelย  YMCA values, and maintain professional behavior.ย 

Provide daily guidance and performance feedback to ensure quality programmingย  and adherence to licensing compliance.ย 

Assist with onboarding, training, mentoring, and ongoing development of the YLCย  Site team.ย ย 

Oversee the implementation of YLC programming, maintain engaging learningย  environments that include age appropriate activitiesย 

Ensure lesson plans comprehensively integrate STEM, literacy, physical activity,ย  character development, leadership, SEL, and CATCH curriculum.ย ย 

Support participating youthโ€™s social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and characterย  development through structured and intentional activities.ย 

Maintain all required licensing documentation, including attendance, student records,ย  incident reports, and CACFP meal distribution where applicable.ย 

Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols by conducting and documentingย  safety drills, monitoring medication administration, and executing emergencyย  procedures.ย 

Build positive relationships with the parents and families, communicating regularlyย  regarding childrenโ€™s progress and program activities while addressing concernsย  professionally and promptly.ย 

Partner with school administrators and community organizations, representing theย  YMCA professionally within the community.ย 

Assist the YLC Program Leadership Team in developing, implementing, andย  evaluating program policies and procedures, while maintaining accurate program,ย  enrollment, and participant records.ย ย 

Support daily site operations by monitoring supply inventory, notifying leadership ofย  supply needs, and practicing responsible use of program resources.ย 

Conduct regular checks of YLC spaces, classrooms, and playgrounds for adherence toย  emergency procedures.ย ย 

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment by actively participatingย  in general housekeeping and site maintenance.ย ย 

Meet and stay up to date with all qualifications for site administration role inย  adherence to state childcare licensing, YMCA required training and compliance.ย 

Serve as the designated on-site leader during hours of program operation.ย ย 

Supervise site staff to ensure appropriate care of youth, resolving all parent, participant, partner, and staff concerns.

Attend all staff meetings and other activities (i.e. open houses, PTA meetings, etc.)ย  as required.

Assist and attend community events sponsored by the YMCA asย  required.ย 

Follow all safety, blood borne, and child abuse prevention guidelines.ย 

Ensure a safe and nurturing environment, attending to the needs of the children atย  all times.ย 

Document incidents and accidents by filling out an FYI for parents, and YMCAย  incident Report forms, submit them to the supervisor. Communicate all emergencies to the supervisor immediately.ย ย 

Implement a consistent system for teaching, recognizing and reinforcing the YMCAย  core values at your site.ย 

Turn in all completed sign in sheets to the supervisor on a weekly basis as required.

Assist in monitoring the quantity, quality, appearance, maintenance, and storage ofย  all supplies and equipment needed for program delivery. Maintain a general supply listย  on an ongoing basis.ย 

Interact with parents, children, and school staff at all times with a smile and byย  name.ย ย
