Overview / Job Summary:

The Faculty in Electrical Systems is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality instructional content in residential and commercial electrical systems and technologies. This role involves curriculum development, classroom and laboratory instruction, student assessment, and fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with peers and industry partners to ensure course relevancy and effectiveness.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive instructional materials and labs in electrical systems.
  • Conduct lectures and practical demonstrations to facilitate understanding of electrical concepts, codes, safety practices, and applications.
  • Create assessments and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback to aid their development.
  • Engage with industry stakeholders to ensure curriculum is aligned with current technologies and workforce needs.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, contribute to program improvements, and assist in program accreditation processes.
  • Support students in achieving their educational goals and developing skills necessary for relevant employment.

Requirements

Education:

  • Relevant teaching experience or industry experience in electrical systems or a related field required.
  • Associate's degree in electrical or a related field Preferred.

Requirements, Knowledge & Skills Needed:

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and applications.
  • Experience with various electrical systems, including residential, commercial, and industrial installations.
  • Current certifications in applicable electrical codes and standards, such as NEC, are a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to utilize technology and modern teaching methodologies to enhance student learning.
  • Experience with instructional design and curriculum development techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Commitment to student success, diversity, and providing a supportive learning environment.
