Job description

  • Worksite Location: NICHE
  • Schedule: 5-? hours per week, flexible hours available

Overview / Job Summary:
The Temp Student Worker (Culinary/NICHE) will assist in the culinary program, supporting both faculty and students in a variety of task-related activities. This role is essential in fostering a collaborative and effective learning environment in the kitchen and classroom. The position is open for WSU Tech students only, and it provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the culinary arts while supporting the academic community.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting the culinary faculty in daily kitchen operations and lesson plans.
  • Preparing ingredients and equipment for classes and demonstrations.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Providing support to students during hands-on culinary training and activities.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to faculty as needed.
  • Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies.
  • Participating in campus events related to culinary programs.

Requirements
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled as a student at WSU Tech, required.
  • Basic knowledge and skills in culinary techniques and food preparation, preferred.
  • Experience in a kitchen or culinary setting is a plus, preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from faculty and staff.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
  • Must adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
