Job description

Overview / Job Summary:

The Adjunct Faculty Instructor for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses will utilize their subject matter expertise to provide quality instruction and facilitate learning. This position requires the instructor to adhere to established lesson plans, meet course objectives, and comply with academic and professional standards.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and supervising students during classroom and practical skills training to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Keeping students informed on course content, requirements, evaluation methods, and attendance policies.
  • Developing, revising, and recommending curriculum adjustments that align with industry standards and improve student learning outcomes.
  • Ensuring courses meet WSU Tech standards and include all relevant curricular components while employing effective teaching strategies reflective of current emergency medical practices.
  • Delivering instruction using various modalities to maintain an effective learning environment.

Requirements

Education:

  • Current EMT certification or higher (e.g., paramedic), required.

Experience & Skills:

  • At least two years of full-time experience in the field of Emergency Medical Services or related services, required.
  • Previous teaching or instructional experience is preferred, especially in adult education.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial; must be able to engage professionally with students and staff.
  • Ability to utilize current technology and teaching tools to enhance the learning experience.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to various teaching methodologies and environments, including hybrid formats as needed.
