An assistant winemaker drives winemaking activities and objectives for a winery, vineyard, or beverage company. You assist in supervising the day-to-day operations of the cellar, including harvest, bulk wine, bottling, barrel preparation, sanitation, and organization. You supervise grape receiving, crushing, processing, and wine production. Your duties include preparing work orders and conducting bulk and bottled wine inventory. You also manage the warehouse and ensure a consistent supply of quality product. Other responsibilities include participating in wine tastings, evaluating wines, and recommending treatment. You assist in educational tastings and tours of the wine facility.
