Position Overview -
AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America's leading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls and bags, is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our team in Taylor, MI. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will be responsible for providing support in directing, coordinating, and managing the inventory, warehousing, shipping, and receiving functions at the plant level.
Responsibilities & Duties -
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing the entire warehouse, shipping & receiving functions in such a manner as to ensure that all company objectives and production goals are continually met. This position will work with the SR Manager by assisting, planning, and coordinating the SR administrative functions as needed.
  • Help in the oversight of all incoming and outgoing activities and ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Participate in the review and completion of shipping notices, bills of lading, orders, and other related documentation.
  • Review overall operation and processes and identify areas for improvement for all functions. Be able to offer recommendations for improvement and be able to constructively support implementing changes.
  • Ensure an effective maintenance program for machinery and the facility is in place and adhered to.
  • Provide supervision of staff as needed to include but not limited to designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work, and providing input for performance appraisals.
  • Provide continuing oversight and training staff in order to increase their levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ensure that staff strictly adheres to all safety rules, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Complete all other duties the Supervisor deems necessary.

Minimum Requirements -
  • Eight or more years of large-scale warehouse management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Logistics, or related field, preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must possess supervisory experience and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Being mechanically inclined is preferred.
  • Have working knowledge of most common computer programs.
  • Be able to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks.
