Job description

Starting at $16.98 per hour | Requires flexibility to work various shifts
In this fast paced, high-energy environment where accuracy is essential, how do we keep track of our many Sportsbook transactions? As a Sportsbook Ticket Writer, you will have a key role in the tracking process by maintaining security and accountability of all transactions taking place within the Sportsbook Department. While carrying out the job duties listed below, you will contribute to our continued success by demonstrating unsurpassed guest service, a high level of integrity and ethical standards, and personal and professional dedication to our Mission, Vision, and Values.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
  1. *Maintain security and accountability of all money transactions by tracking and securing Sportsbook Ticket Writer banks and reconciliation of banks on assigned shift.
  2. *Assist in the flow of work during shift and act as resource for team member and guest questions.
  3. *Write and cash tickets on all sporting events.
  4. *Verify daily paperwork to resolve any variance errors that may occur during assigned shift.
  5. *Count and verify all funds into assigned bank.
  6. *Knowledge of terms and conditions pertaining to sports wagering and be fully aware of all lines and odds in the Sportsbook.
  7. *Process the high volume of transactions performed using electronic equipment including a point-of sale system.
  8. Address any guest inquiries or complaints and communicate to Sportsbook Management.
  9. Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  10. Assist guests with Sportsbook kiosk operation when assigned.
  11. Pick up, clean, straighten, stock supplies, organize Sportsbook areas as assigned.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. Prior experience in race and sports wagering preferred.
  3. Cash handling experience preferred.
  4. The ability to use basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and counting using whole numbers and United States currency.
  5. Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment including a calculator and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Previous experience using a point-of-sale (POS) system preferred.
  6. The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
  7. The ability to interact with guests and team members professionally.
  8. The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  9. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the office and property for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member is required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with assistance. Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions
The noise level is usually moderate to loud due to game audio and other ambient noises. The Sportsbook is a smoke free area of the casino.
