Job description

The Global Sourcing Assistant supports the Global Sourcing Manager in the production process of Private Label Brands manufactured exclusively for Belk, from initial concept sample through delivery. Responsible for assisting in following up and tracking private brand merchandise, tasks and activities, ensuring all timelines are met and production of the line is managed effectively and efficiently.
Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with internal and overseas partners to assist Sourcing Manager in managing the execution of the timeline and total production process for their assigned private brands or categories from initial concept sample through delivery
  • Partner with cross functional team (CFT), that includes but is not limited to brand manager, designer, textile designer, technical designer and color team on all approvals.
  • Perform daily PLM maintenance and updates for delivery, cost, unit and HTS information.
  • Responsible for the management of all sample tracking by brand, inclusive of Photo and eCommerce, in conjunction with Sourcing Coordinator!!Coordinate with logistics and suppliers to resolve shipping issues.
  • Assist in the creation of sourcing and vendor/style allocation reports
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or required by business need
  • Requires designated hybrid in-office work schedule
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent years of experience required
Work Experience:
  • Experience in product development or sourcing
  • Retail experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of the product manufacturing techniques, fabrication, and costing components that impact product line development
  • Flexible; capable of shifting to different projects as priorities change; successfully navigates ambiguity and drives business results regardless of obstacles
  • Performs basic retail math and utilizes formulas for analysis and reporting activities
  • Detail-oriented to manage customer requirements and understand product; must possess organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (written and verbal)
  • Use analytical and reasoning skills to review data, arrive at fact-based conclusions, and recommend next-step actions
  • Proficiency in Micro Soft office products, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
