Role Description The Senior Textile Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This role is responsible for conceptualizing and developing original textile designs, including prints, patterns, and surface embellishments, that align with brand guidelines and market trends. The designer will create seasonal collections, prepare detailed artwork and technical files for production, and collaborate closely with product development, merchandising, and sourcing teams.


Daily responsibilities include researching trends, color, and materials; developing artwork for bedding, throws, and related product categories; reviewing and commenting on lab dips and strike-offs; and ensuring design accuracy through to final production.


The role also involves presenting concepts to internal stakeholders, managing multiple design projects and deadlines, and maintaining a high standard of design quality across the Crest Brands Group portfolio.


Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in textile design, including Textiles, Textile Prints, and Embroidery, with a proven ability to develop repeat patterns and surface designs for production.
  • Proficiency in Graphics and Graphic Design, including creating original artwork, colorways, and layouts using industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Demonstrated experience designing for home textiles, related consumer products, preferably across multiple brands or categories.
  • Strong trend research and interpretation skills, with the ability to translate market insights and brand direction into commercially relevant designs.
  • Excellent attention to detail, color sense, and composition, with a portfolio showcasing both creative and commercially viable work.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Surface Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with overseas vendors and understanding of production processes, fabrications.
