Purpose of the role

To deliver accurate financial reporting, forecasting and commercial insight that supports business performance, informed decision-making and profitable growth. Working closely with operational, commercial and senior leadership teams, the Senior Management Accountant will drive financial control, continuous improvement and value-adding analysis across the business


The day to day

  • To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements
  • Lead the month-end reporting process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of management accounts and associated reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reporting packs, delivering insight, commentary and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain the integrity of the general ledger through accurate journal postings, reconciliations and financial controls.
  • Deliver detailed variance analysis across revenue, margins, expenditure and profitability, identifying key risks and opportunities.
  • Manage cash flow reporting and forecasting, providing visibility of current and future financial requirements.
  • Support the annual budgeting, forecasting and re-forecasting processes, challenging assumptions and improving forecast accuracy.
  • Act as a trusted finance business partner to operational, commercial and sales teams, supporting informed decision-making and business performance.
  • Deliver value-adding commercial analysis across areas including profitability, pricing, commissions, margins and cost performance.
  • Develop and enhance financial and operational KPI reporting to support strategic and operational objectives.
  • Ensure accurate inventory accounting, standard costing, stock reporting and purchase price variance analysis, driving improvements in stock control and inventory efficiency.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure reporting, ensuring compliance and accurate financial records.
  • Support payroll reconciliations, inter-company accounting and group reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, governance processes and adherence to company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Support audit, tax and regulatory reporting activities, working closely with external auditors and professional advisors.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and reporting capabilities, maximising the effectiveness of Sage and other business systems.
  • Develop and maintain finance procedures and standard operating processes to support consistency, compliance and knowledge sharing.
  • Coach and support finance team members, helping to build capability and drive high performance across the function.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis, reporting and project support to the Senior Management Team.
  • Strong working knowledge of US Federal and State tax requirements, including corporate tax compliance, filings, reporting obligations and the ability to support tax planning activities.


Other Considerations

  • Qualified accountant (CPA & CMA).
  • Proven experience in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of month-end processes, financial controls and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Commercially minded with experience providing financial insight and business partnering support to operational and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in profitability analysis, cashflow forecasting and KPI reporting.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system knowledge; Sage experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing, stock accounting and standard costing experience are desirable.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, organized and able to influence decision-making while driving continuous improvement.
