Job Title: Paraprofessional / Education Assistant
Supervisor: Academic Director
Job Summary: Assist students in the general classroom.
Days/ Year: Student contact days / 6-8 hours a day
Level: Paraprofessional/Education Assistant - Level I to Level III (to be determined based on education and experience)
Position Purpose: To provide assistance with specific learner population or a more focused role with individual learners; provide support in classrooms under the direction of licensed staff.
Major Job Functions:
  • assist licensed teacher (to be assigned) with day-to-day instruction of students, both individually and in small groups.
  • perform other related duties as assigned
  • supervise lunchroom and/or playground activities.

Qualifications:
  • 60 credits or completion of ParaPro Assessment.
  • Experience working with elementary aged children in a structured setting
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and "at-risk" students individually and in small work groups.
