NOTICE OF VACANCIES

Fall ATHLETIC COACHES - MULTIPLE SITES

2026-2027  SCHOOL YEAR

We are now accepting applications for the following Winter coaching positions for the 2026-2027 school year. 

POSITIONS:             High School Head/Assistant Coach (Nipomo High School, Arroyo Grande High School)

  • Levels: Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity
  • Sports: Football, Girls Flag Football, Girls Tennis, Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, Boys Water Polo, Girls Water Polo, Girls Golf,

Cheer/Pep Squad

Middle School Coach (Mesa Middle School, Paulding Middle School, Judkins Middle School)

  • Levels: 7th grade & 8th grade

   Sports: Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Girls Volleyball

STIPEND: Based upon position, sport, and level.

Certificated Extra Duty Salary Schedule 2024-2025
 

REQUIREMENTS:Demonstrated knowledge, competence, experience and past success or skill in the sport or related sport

Two seasons of previous coaching experience at high school or higher level (Varsity)

One seasons of  previous coaching experience at high school or higher level (Assistant)

Valid California driver's license 

DOJ and FBI background clearance

PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATIONS:

  • External candidates:  All interested outside applicants (not a current employee with Lucia Mar) must complete an online application via Frontlineas an external candidate and include a letter of interest, resume related to sport experience, and one (1) current signed letter of recommendation or character reference.  Candidates who may also need to drive students in a personal or district vehicle must also complete the Driver Registration Form online and submit a DMV Pull Notice, prior to transporting of students. 
  • Internal certificated candidates:  All interested current certificated teachers, contracted with  Lucia Mar can complete the Certificated Teacher Interest Form.
  • Internal classified and/or certificated/classified substitutes:  All interestedinternal classified and substitutes, must complete an online application viaFrontlineas an internal candidate and select at the beginning of the application "yes, I am currently an employee of the Lucia Mar Unified School District." Include a letter of interest and resume related to sport experience.  . 
  • Volunteer candidates:  All interested candidates applying to serve as a volunteer coach must complete the LMUSD Volunteer Registration registration form online.  Volunteer coaches driving must also complete this same form online.
  • Driver candidates:  Candidates who may also need to transport students in a personal or district vehicle must also complete the Driver Registration Form online and submit a DMV Pull Notice, prior to transporting students.
