Job description

Job Title: Information Security Project Manager
Location: Remote

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Information Security Project Manager to lead and manage multiple mid-sized Information Security (IS) initiatives from project initiation through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, service delivery, and security implementations, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams. This role requires expertise in managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, vendors, and stakeholder communications while ensuring successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Information Security projects through the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Establish and implement project governance, operating procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate project meetings, status reporting, and executive communications.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, business objectives, and security requirements.
  • Manage project changes, escalations, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Document lessons learned and ensure smooth transition of completed projects to operations and support teams.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and project documentation upon completion.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an IT Service Delivery role.
  • 3+ years of experience managing IT implementation projects.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting Information Security initiatives or security-related implementations.
  • Experience managing projects using Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience with Change Management processes and supporting tools.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management experience.
  • Experience working with vendors and third-party partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Information Security principles, governance, and implementation practices is highly desirable.
