Job description

NCS is seeking an experienced Security Project Manager to lead commercial security projects from planning through completion. The Project Manager will oversee project schedules, budgets, materials, field personnel, subcontractors, customer communication, quality, testing, commissioning, and closeout.


The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing commercial security projects and a strong understanding of access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, security cameras, and low-voltage infrastructure.


This is not a general construction PM position. Commercial security project management experience is required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial security projects from kickoff through final closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate security technicians, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and project resources.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings, site walks, customer meetings, and progress meetings.
  • Review project scopes, drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate material procurement and ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Monitor project progress, labor, costs, quality, and schedule performance.
  • Identify and resolve project issues, risks, delays, and scope concerns.
  • Coordinate the installation and deployment of commercial security systems, including:
  • Access control
  • CCTV and video surveillance
  • Security cameras
  • Intrusion detection
  • Card readers and credentialing
  • Intercom and entry systems
  • Security head-end equipment
  • Low-voltage cabling and infrastructure
  • Coordinate testing, programming, commissioning, punch lists, and customer acceptance.
  • Provide leadership and direction to field technicians and subcontractors.
  • Monitor field productivity, workmanship, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Manage change orders and customer-requested scope changes.
  • Review daily reports, timekeeping, material usage, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with Estimating and Operations to address scope, cost, and project risks.
  • Ensure accurate as-built drawings and project documentation.
  • Lead project closeout and obtain required customer approvals and sign-offs.
  • Maintain strong customer and contractor relationships throughout the project.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial security project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems.
  • Experience managing security technicians, subcontractors, materials, schedules, and project resources.
  • Experience working with general contractors, customers, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, security system drawings, scopes of work, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, documentation, and customer expectations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to use project management software and mobile technology.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and lead project teams.
  • Ability to work in both office and active construction/field environments.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial security integrators or low-voltage contractors.
  • Experience with platforms such as LenelS2, Genetec, Avigilon, Brivo, Verkada, Honeywell, Bosch, or Milestone.
  • Experience managing large-scale commercial security deployments.
  • Experience with new construction and renovation projects.
  • Manufacturer or industry security certifications.
  • OSHA, PMP, NICET, or other relevant certifications.
  • Previous experience with NCS or a similar organization.
