Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Department: Operations
Reports To: Senior Project Manager
Location: Fort Worth, TX
The Assistant Project Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of survey projects. This position requires assistance with project management, client communication, team coordination, and ensuring the successful delivery of accurate and high-quality surveying services.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support
  • Assist in the development of project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager.
  • Play a pivotal role in project initiation, including gathering client requirements and scoping project objectives.

Client Communication
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager to maintain strong client relationships and serve as a point of contact for project-related matters.
  • Communicate project progress, changes, and updates to clients under the guidance of the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager.

Team Coordination
  • Work closely with project teams, including survey crew members, surveyors, and support staff, to execute project tasks and meet project goals.
  • Assist in assigning responsibilities and coordinating project activities.

Budget and Resource Management
  • Support the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager in monitoring project budgets, expenses, and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective project execution.
  • Assist in the procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontractor services as needed.

Quality Assurance
  • Assist in overseeing the execution of survey projects to ensure data accuracy, adherence to surveying standards, and the production of high-quality deliverables.
  • Participate in quality control processes and procedures.

Project Documentation
  • Maintain project records, including project plans, progress reports, change orders, and client communications, in coordination with the Senior Project Manager.
  • Collaborate in the preparation and review of survey reports, maps, and other project deliverables.

Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure that all surveying operations adhere to safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a culture of safety within the project team.
  • Assist in compliance with environmental requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Progress toward or intention to pursue Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure or certification.
  • Previous experience in surveying, project management, or a related role is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
