Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. 

This role supports a federal financial regulatory agency responsible for maintaining stability and public confidence in the nation's financial system. The work involves activities related to the oversight, management, and resolution of failing or failed financial institutions, ensuring operational readiness, informed decisionmaking, and continuity of critical financial services.

Work Location: This role is based in Arlington, VA and or Dallas, TX and will require you to reside close to either of these cities. 

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • The Project Manager has overall responsibility for project execution and deliverables, including resource allocation, schedule management, team performance and accountability, and stakeholder communication.
  • The Project Manager is responsible for the quality of all program deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines, contract requirements, and quality standards.
  • The Project Manager will track and monitor project health and team assignments.
  • The Project Manager will present materials to the managers and staff as needed. He/she should have strong experience in project management, developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly with all levels of management and team members.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented setting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/equivalent and a minimum 10 years of experience
  • US Citizenship is required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance 
  • Expertise in project management roles including leading project teams through all phases of the project management life cycle.
  • 5 years of progressive technical and/or managerial experience in application development, software administration, and/or IT security.
  • 5 years of experience tracking cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
  • Must possess one current project management certification demonstrating knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, such as:

    • PMP - Project Management Professional
    • CAPM - Certified Associate in Project Management
    • CSSBB - Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
    • CSSGB - Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
    • CSM - Certified Scrum Master
  • Experience developing presentations and presenting project status to executive management teams.
  • Experience leading project teams of 5 or more people working on IT projects in the financial services industry.
  • Advanced project management skills including developing project plans and successfully leading project teams from initiation through completion.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft applications including Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing to executive level audiences.

Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
