Reporting to the Project Manager, Major Projects, the Jr. Project Manager is a hybrid field/office role responsible for supporting the successful delivery of Black Diamond projects. This position is designed as aย development role, providing handson exposure to project planning, field execution, subcontractor coordination, and project controls. As competency increases, the Jr. PM will progressively assume greater responsibility, with a clear growth path toward a full Project Manager position.

The Ideal Candidate is a motivated and detail-oriented construction professional with 3-5 years of project experience, who thrives in both field and office environments, enjoys coordinating multiple stakeholders, and is eager to grow into a Project Manager role through hands-on project delivery experience.

Responsibilities

Project Support

  • Assist the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, and coordination of project activities.
  • Track project progress, deliverables, and milestones; prepare weekly and monthly reporting packages.
  • Assist with cost tracking, forecasting, and budget updates.
  • Support procurement activities including material tracking, vendor coordination, and expediting.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
  • Assist with contract administration and subcontractor onboarding.
  • Contribute to risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue tracking.
  • Support development and maintenance of project schedules (MS Project or equivalent).

Field Coordination

  • Spend regular time on site to support field execution and understand construction workflows.
  • Work closely with Contractor Superintendents to track daily progress, manpower, equipment, and material needs.
  • Support quality inspections, deficiency tracking, and punch list completion.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and escalate issues to the Project Manager.
  • Assist with site logistics planning, laydown coordination, and material deliveries.
  • Participate in commissioning and turnover activities as required.

Safety & Compliance

  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and site safety meetings.
  • Ensure subcontractors follow Black Diamond safety requirements and site procedures.
  • Complete safety documentation as required (inspections, hazard IDs, nearmiss reports).
  • Support the Project Manager and HSE team in maintaining a safe work environment.

Client & Stakeholder Interaction

  • Support the Project Manager in client communications and progress updates.
  • Attend project meetings and prepare action logs.
  • Assist in managing expectations, resolving minor issues, and maintaining positive relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.


ย Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in construction, modular construction, or industrial projects.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, and project management software.
  • Ability to work in remote environments and travel to project sites as required.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with field teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Selfstarting, problemsolving mindset with a strong drive to learn and proactively take initiative.
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments.

Work Environment & Travel Requirements

  • This role requires regular travel to remote project sites.
  • Candidates should expect to be on site for up to three (3) weeks at a time, depending on project schedules and execution requirements.

  • Work will occur in remote camp environments, modular construction sites, and industrial settings.
